Royal Dutch Shell plc , commonly known as Shell, is a British–Dutch multinational oil and gas company headquartered in the Netherlands and incorporated in the United Kingdom. It is one of the six oil and gas “supermajors” and the sixth-largest company in the world measured by 2016 revenues (and the largest based in Europe). We provided technical staffing, database design, systems architecture, business process analysis, systems analysis and design, and project management. Our services enabled Shell to implement new technology that helped achieve important social and business objectives.
We also assisted in devising sound project management practices and systems to ensure cost efficiency.
Cost Control Personnel. We provided contract staff assisting in the project cost control function of the Project Management Team (PMT) for a major North American pipeline activity. The consultant prepared weekly and monthly project cost reports and reconciled project cost data from SAP to the subsidiary project management system. In parallel to this activity, the consultant worked with the PMT to develop a cost control database system using MS Access.
Environmental Release Warning and Reporting System. Our consultant worked as part of a systems design team to develop a web-based reporting and tracking system to provide real-time incident reporting for accidental releases of hazardous materials. The system was designed to develop a myriad of reporting protocols and rules needed to ensure timely compliance with EPA regulations. Our consult worked with java programmers to define a logic engine that captured a variety of incident related data and triggered a variety of reporting routines using email, fax, sms, telephonic, etc., and a variety of data packages.
